ORSON SCOTT CARD
Born August 24, 1951 in Washington state, Orson Scott Card began his literary pursuits by studying poetry at Brigham Young University. He also had a great interest in theatre, and worked for a time as a proof-reader and later an editor. Card is best known for his Science Fiction and Fantasy books. He has the distinction of being the only author to win the Hugo and Nebula Awards in consecutive years ("Ender's Game" in 1985 and the sequel "Speaker for the Dead" in 1986).
Card currently lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife, Kristine Allen Card, and their youngest child, Zina Margaret. In addition to his writing, he also teaches and is active in conservative political causes.
